Using regular brushes for masking brushes

Hey guys!

In zb 3.5r3 and previous the current brush you had would function as your masking brush as well. I haven’t found a way to do this in zbrush 4.

Is there a way to make your current sculpting brush your masking brush for when you’re working? Or do I have to convert all my brushes over to masking brushes as well?

Thanks in advance!

‘Ctrl’ is for masks. ‘Ctrl + Shift’ is for Show/Hide Selection and Clip Brushes. ‘Shift’ is for Smooth Brush or whatever brush you want to make it. See the ‘ZBrush4_whats_new.pdf’ in your ZBrush 4.0/Documentation folder starting on page 40.

Thanks for your reply. I was more looking for a specific way to use one brush as a mask. Say for example I wanted to use the hPolish brush for my masking brush. I remember you could use all your wacky sculpting for brushes as your masking brushes just by having it selected.

So if you had hpolish, and you used control+stroke, it would mask the mesh in an hPolish way. is that more clear? =)
