Hello, I hear Pinch is good for making lines, I honestly dont see how it can. Its hard for me to even see the point of that brush, but I know its just my lack of knowledge of the tool that makes me see that. Could someone perhaps give me a better understanding how Pinch can be used for making crisp lines or its usefullness in general. Thanks.
the pinch tool was also something I hated at first, but with practice I learned to love it especially if your using a
tablet.
Practice by drawing a 3d plane made into a polymesh Then using your std brush paint some globs on it then practice with the pinch tool along with the smooth tool(very important) first it will seem as if the pinch tool just wreaks havoc on your polys us the smooth tool to fix this
also make sure your polygon levels are high and things will go smoother, but you eventually need more polys. The pinch tool in realtime can only control so much detail based on your poly count.
my attachment shows my work on the blob on a plane.
I’m am interested in what you discover I still try to determine if despite the clean lines I get if my polygons are getting out of wack. because my geometry looks strange when I look at poly frame mode sometimes, but none the less. the pinch tool takes everything to a nice crisp point.

Here is a before and after with pinch. Don;t forget you can dig trenches with the alt key while painting Z’s.

I forget to mention that, thank you Lemonado
