Using GoZ to import textures with model

I have a model already textured in Maya, The head and body are sperate textures and the model is in one peice.

Is there a way to import a modle from Maya into zBrush using GoZ and have those textures already applied?

If not how do I bring in those textures and apply them?

I don’t think Zbrush can handle multiple UVs or two different textures on one mesh. Can’t you just combine the two textures into one and then import it to Zbrush, or will that cause UV overlap?

You can try and convert your texture maps into Polypaint in Zbrush. That way you can continue and paint on the model directly and when you’re done you can use the Multi-map Exporter to have your Polypaint exported into separate texture maps again.

Hi I tried the polypaint method but I just know I haven’t got the process right.

Once I selected the tool and click on poly paint paint with textures it seems to paint the texture all over the place. Like is was cloning it multiple times to cover the model.

Any idea what steps I am missing??

I forgot also that GoZ probably is converting the Maya file to and obj and obj’s don’t support mulitiple uv sets… so like duh on me…

Hi! Not sure how GoZ works with Maya, but I’m using Cinema 4D and from there GoZ can export multiple UVs. Maybe it works the same?

It's not possible to use more than one texture map on a tool in Zbrush, but I think I've figured out how to convert and combine multiple textures into Polypaint. Maybe it is old news, I don't know! :) See attached images. When done painting you can export your Polypaint into multiple highres texture maps again. Before I exported my mesh from Cinema 4D I had to scale the UVs so that I got a small gap between the UV's and the border. If there was any UV overlap then my polypainted textures got messed up during export from Zbrush. // tennet
