using crease to keep an hard edge when using divide .

I have some poly which grouped together in 3ds max imported into z brush
. The probelm which is apparent is when i use crease to maintain an hard edge and then use divide. Which is following the tutorial My edges look round which seems crease is not maintaining an hard edge.

I haveposted the exampes below. One of the tutorials and my version following the tutorial.
any help please totally ne w to z brush

Why don’t you subdivide first without smoothing and then for the last one use smoothing to get nice beveled edges?
