Use of spotlight just for image reference

Hi guys,
really quick question. I would like to use Spotlight just to load and have on my screen reference images when I sculpt. Now, if I try to do it (loading standard spotlight) I can’t actually sculpt or modify my model. I am pretty sure to remember that there is an option that allows me to use spotlight just for reference, and as a consequence it allows me any kind of editing on my Ztool. I can’t find it!
