i am using zbrush 3 quite a while under xp 32 bit, i ran into the memory limit very often, so i now upgraded my system to 64 bit vista with 8 gb ram.
i only have one setup file for zbrush, which i used to install on xp 32 bit.
does this include the 64 bit version? and if not, where can i get the 64 bit version of zbrush 3.1 for windows?
There is no 64-bit version of ZBrush. It’s a 32-bit app which is Large Address Aware. This means that on a 64-bit OS it can use up to 4 GB of RAM (as opposed to the 2 GB that it’s given by a 32-bit version of Windows). It also gets to take advantage of the better use of CPU that comes with a 64-bit OS. Any extra RAM that you have beyond 4 GB goes to Windows and any other apps that might be open.
