I’m wondering what I should upgrade first for a great zb machine
How much Ram do you have? Zbrush is CPU and Ram driven…these are the things that will affect performance, Video Card is not particularly important.
You should have 4 gb ram minimum, a little more would be better. Zbrush as a program cant use more than 4gb, but a significant chunk of Ram gets eaten by the operating system. In excess of 4gb would let ZB get the full 4 gb.
Thanks for your reply… I forgot to mention I have 4 gigs of ram…would another 2 be my best bet then?
If you already have at least 4gb of ram, I’d probably look to the cpu as my first priority, with some more ram being second. Not that your machine isn’t quite capable of running Zbrush perfectly comfortably, but I would upgrade that first for more speed and power for operations.

Does Zbrush make use of Quad Core? Would the Q9450 be good? And what about this upcoming I5?
