updated sketchbook - still learning

You sure seems to have improved a lot since the last time I posted in this thread, good progression!

As for your latest model, the topology could have been a little more even, with more square faces (the nose of your elephant has a lot of long rectangle faces and seems to have more density than the head).
But hey the sculpt looks good, that the most important!

Hey Kenny,
Nice job man, I like following your thread and watching how you’re getting better day after day.

Just a few critics about your reel if you don’t mind. When doing a turntable, try to keep your pivot in the center of your model, it’s a little bit weird seeing your model going from the right to the left of the screen ! It’s hard to focus somehow.
Some of them are turning quite quickly as well.
I wanted to add that you’ve got a lot of models, maybe too much, resulting in a long showreel, but I don’t know the guidelines for this challenge.

Anyway, you’re doing a hard work, you’ve got an impressive motivation and production. It’s going to pay one day, and I’m sure it’s going to pay very well ^^
Good luck with your challenge man

Dang dude! You’re kicking some ass. I don’t know if I should be giving you any more advice or feedback - at the rate your going, you gonna take my job

@SpiritDreamer - Thank you so much my dear friend Glenn. I am overwelmed by your very kind feedback and words.:o Thank you so much, that is really great hearing that from you and gives me more and more motivation to work harder.

@nitrox721 - nitrox my buddy whats up, thanks for the continued support and giving me feedback and critique on my work. Glad you are liking the showreel and the elephant

@MightyReg - Thank you for taking your time stopping on here mate, really glad hearing from you. You are right, the topology is a little off on the head area and on his feet. Glad to hear the sculpts looks good, really appreciate it :)<3

@Boulp - Wow thank you SO much man, great hearing from you and for taking your time commenting in my sketchbook. This truely is a big motivation for me! You are right with the ShowReel, it is too long and the turntable looks off too. At least the ones I have rendered out in 3ds max and the ZBrush Turntables are a little too fast, can’t even look at the models right. Definantly will rework on that, had a deadline and I had some intense Rendering Problems. I’ve renderd the ZBrush Turntable by a format of 6521x4952 or so andit took like 1 hour for one frame ;D that is insane^^ so I only got a render out of it with 100 Frames. Wanted to slow it down in After Effects, but when I tried to do that, the quality went like down like in Minecraft^^ Thanks the challenge is over mate

@fattkid - This is getting even better, so glad to see you here my friend:). You are a big motivator for me and your words give me power mate. But you’re definantly too kind, you are the Master here, I can learn from you every second by seeing your work.
Well the pressure is big though, my biggest fear is not having the opportunitiy getting into this amazing industry, but I am trying my best, even though some people don’t like if I write so much in forums, that’s what I’ve heard lately

I have to say again, thank you all so much and the whole ZBrushCentral Community for beeing so nice and definantly too kind sometimes. I really learn a lot from your advices and critiques and I definantly neven regret Signing Up on here, this is like a second family for sure, sculptor to sculptor! This Forum contains so much astonishing artist and artwork, that I am totally mindblowed by it. Thanks for that!!!:+1: Btw sorry for the english, I am very hyper at the moment haha

Alright guys here it goes, here is another work for my ShowReel TRex May 2012 - My Fourth Time doing a Dinosaur, we had a great lesson in college on a raptor. I started out with my raptor and looked at great references here on zbc. Dynamesh only, the pose was a pain in the ass, took me like 1 Week to get the Pose right and to resculpt the areas. The Trex is about 18million polys, I know that is pretty high but I’ve needed it in the part like the fingers, toes etc. Hope you all enjoy anyway. C&C’s are more than welcomed.

I love the dynamism of this model…very impressive

Hey Kenny

Just wanted to echo what MinisterArt wrote and posted avove…Great and dynamic…Alot of enery and feeling of life there…:+1:

Here is a current work of mine, started on thursday. would have love doing more on it, deadline is sunday 12pm and yesterday was the final of champions league in soccer… well my team lost ^^
anyway Here is my entry for 3d creature planet 17 on cghub. I played a little too much Mass Effect, but I had to rebuild the mask. I think it is one of the sickest masks ever^^ All made with dynamesh. A friend recommend on doing predator heads, so I modeled the hair with zspheres, exported them out in 3dsmax for last details. Hope you all enjoy. Good luck to all who are participating, voting is up tomorrow  (http://cghub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10356)

Nice model a mix of everything I see.

Good luck, man. I’m participating in the contest, too (stonestef). It’s one of the few challenges where each and every sculpt looks great and deserves to win!

Really cool reel man, congratz on that! :):+1:
What software did you use?

Keep up the good work my my friend, that’s very cool! Like the top of the character
Good luck for the challenge;)
Cheers
Chris

Good looking reel Kenny.

If I may suggest something though ( and I know it’s a pain in the ass to do ) but the turntables feel too fast especially with your chosen soundtrack.
Slow them down show off how proud you are of your models.

Dan.

@muchlove106 - Thank you so much, glad you like my work

@stonestef - Thanks for the stop by, yeah you are so right. Every entry of the challenge was great, you did also a fantastic job! Hope to see you in other challenges aswell

@Santis - Thanks mate, really glad you like it and for taking your time writing in my thread. Mmh what do you mean? all made in zbrush^^

@aliengraphic - hey chris my dear friend, thanks for your great support and for your very motivating comments very day! Big THANKS!!

@deckard01 - Wow cool thanks for your stopby and taking the time man! Yeah you are very right, my demoreel is way to long and the turntables are very good… Some of them are too fast and some are too slow… Will definantly rework that on the July ShowReel for graduating this july! Thanks for giving me such great feedback and advices! means a lot to me.

Alright guys long time no posting on here :frowning: because first my computer had a bad virus and couldn’t open any program except starting windows? and I am working almost every time when I’m in zbrush for my final project in college. Will be a Maya terrain with all kinds of temples, ruins and so on. Also a very crowded planted jungle. Will be mostly working in 3dsmax, zbrush, photoshop, topogun, xNormal, speedtree and udk. Hope I can post some WIP of the current models on here!
Well so on here is a todays likeness study(took about 2hours) - hope you all can recognize him. Still have to learn and practice a lot more anatomy. My next work willl post in about 4 hours, will work on Jet Li now. But hope you can recognize him. C&C’s are more than Welcomed. Sculpted, textured and renderd in ZBrush.
