Unwrapping By Polygroup

Hello,

i created a 3D Scan for working within Zbrush. To reproject my texture i need to create my low poly model which i unwrap.
Everytime i unwrap with UV Master it says unwrapping: polygroup 1/49.

I created one polygroup for the whole mesh and it says everytime i uv that it has multiple polygroups.
In this case i cant unwrap as it crashes with that much polygroups.

What am i missing ?

Thanks!

sounds like you have errors in your lowpoly.

How dense is your lowpoly mesh?
Where did you create your lowpoly mesh?
Have you tested the mesh integrity or cleaned up the mesh yet?

Thanks for your answer. I checked that all holes are closed. Then i zrmeshed it to about 15k Polys. Uv master can handle that right ?
There are also some parts which are overlapping and unfortunatily i cant smooth that parts out.

Screenshot:

well that picture has quite a few polygroups in it.

Am I missing something?

yes. in which case zbrush applies polygroups? could it be because of some overlapping parts or some holes in mesh since my mesh is scanned? but i cant get red of these parts…

I tried to seperate my polygroups and unwrap every subtool on his own but again it says that i have more polygroups than i actually have which causes in crash.

I checked a polygroup subtool in 3Ds Max and like i was thought zbrush gives every overlapping part own polygroups. -> https://prnt.sc/fj67t9 (This arent just overlapping parts, there are also some polys which arent right connected to the mesh)

How can i avoid that ?

You need to clean up that mesh. You can’t just auto generate a mesh and projectall for scan data. Scan data always requires clean up.
