Unwanted ZSphere Rotation

In building a chain of zspheres, I am imparting an unwanted rotation to the spheres that twists my mesh, as viewed in the Adaptive Skin Preview.

The Shift Key doesn’t seem to constrain rotation as it does when Moving spheres along an axis. I realize I can go back and fix the problem, but is there a way to avoid it altogether?

In the image below, the sphere on the far right was placed last and as you can see it rotates automatically. On other occasions, the entire chain seems to pivot around the center giving an unwanted rotation to my mesh.

Any help would be appreciated. TIA

I have uploaded a video to YouTube, which might shed some light on the issue. From the video you can see when I move the left-side of the chain, the spheres remain relatively level in relation to the horizon, however, moving the right-side causes the spheres in that part of the chain to rotate.

Have I inadvertently hit some keystroke combination that causes this? Eventually, I used the Init ZBrush hoping a reset would solve it, but no.

YouTube Video…

This is exactly the kind of question that gets to the fundamentals of how ZBrush works (or doesn’t work), which is what those of us new to the program need to learn if we are ever to develop a real facility. Yet, there are no replies. (Or, am I missing something?) Where are the gurus?

What is really, really needed in ZBrush is a tutorial on the problems that sometimes plague fundamental operations and the possible solutions to those problems. I spend more time posting questions to the forum than I do getting any actual “work” done. It’s a huge waste of time time for new users and a burden on the more senior members of the community who, thankfully, take the time to help.

In some sense it’s a tribute to the amazing capabilities of ZBrush that so many people are willing to go through this software version of water boarding in order to eventually learn how to swim. (Yes, that it a terrible metaphor, but I still like it.)
