Unknown problem with 'New texture from polypaint'

Hi All.

I’ve been painting a model in Zbrush 4R4 and I’m having some problems creating a new texture from the polypaint. I originally imported the texture first, converted it to polypaint and then edited it, and once I was happy I tried to create a new texture from that. There are no masks, the poly’s are at a decent level, I really have no clue why it is not accurately copying the polypaint. Below is a screenshot of the polypaint and then of the texture created from it. What is even more frustrating is that I used the same process on 2 previous models and it created a new texture incredibly accurately :confused:

If anyone has any idea why this is happening, I would love to know why (and how to fix it). Thank you.

An update to ZBrush 4R6 P2 will probably fix it. Any particular reason you don’t want to update?

I would check to make sure your UVs aren’t touching or extending beyond the 0:1 UV borders, and that you don’t have an unwanted clone of the tool fighting for the same screen space. Otherwise I don’t recall 4R4 having a broken texture baker.

Alternatively you could also try using Xnormal; it is capable of reading polypaint data and converting it into a texture.
