unified skin

Hi, short question,

is there a way to crank up the resolution of unified skin to more than 512?
It would a realy help for me.

You would need to skin the model, then divide the skin.

maybe i missunderstand you, but what i want is to convert a mesh in a unified skin with higher resolution than 512. The originalmesh consists of many seperated parts, so i combined them in maya and now what i need is one mesh. Unified skin is a good help, but i loose some important details with unified skin.

if the maximum unified skin resolution does not hold enough detail for your purpos then just use the highest resolution, subdivide the resulting mesh to a polycount that works for you and then transfer the details of your original mesh by adding the unified skin as a subtool to your original mesh and hit “project all”.
