Hello,
Im very new to Zbrush and working on my first project, I don’t know how to undo Remesh- after pressing it it change the object into smooth (nearly a sphere), the history slider doesn’t seem to change anything, could anyone help please?
Thanks a Lot!
Ctrl-Z?
If this doesn’t work for some reason, you will have to document your process for us, explaining what functions you are using, along with an uncropped screenshot of the mesh in the zbrush UI, before and after.
Hello, welcome to zBC.
If you’re talking about Tool: Subtool: Remesh (not to be confused with Tool: Geometry: ZRemesh), this creates a brand new subtool and automatically appends it (you can find it in the subtool menu, it will have a “Skin_” prefix on the name).
Unlike Dynamesh, the new subtool is usually a smooth blob rather than an exact copy of the surface, as you’re usually meant to select it and then manually use the Project All feature.
Sliding back in the history of the original subtool will not appear to change anything since this new tool is still enveloping the old one, visually hiding the old tool underneath it. If you enter solo mode or hide the visibility of the Skin_ subtool, you’ll see that the history slider is only affecting the original subtool since the remeshed skin will have its own history.
This means you don’t use history or Ctrl+Z to undo this, instead you select the new Skin_ subtool and delete it in the subtool menu.
