Somehow I keep losing my hotkey undo, cntrl Z. This started recently and I don’t know what causes it. If I start Zbrush fresh, undo works fine for a while then disappears. The undo button itself always works, but the hot key stops working. This never happened until I started saving projects instead of ztools. Any connection?

What ZBrush version number do you have in the top left corner?
This was an older version issue. ZBrush 4R4 P2 now has Unlimited Undo History. Up to 10,000 undo’s.

Maybe the fix for older version will work. No harm in trying it. Add the following lines to your StartupHotkeys.TXT file.
[EDIT:UNDO,634] // Ctrl+Z
[EDIT:TOOL:UNDO,634] // Ctrl+Z
[EDIT:REDO,890] // Ctrl+Shift+Z
[EDIT:TOOL:REDO,890] // Ctrl+Shift+Z
I too have this problem. I edited my StartupHotkeys.TXT with the entries in the last post and it still doesn’t work. when I hover over the “undo” button I see no shortcut assigned to it. Ill do a ctrl+shift click on the undo button and try to set ctrl+z to it but it give me a error saying its already used. then I hover over the undo button again and the hotkey is back!
so i continue working, then the hotkey goes away after a few seconds.
others are having this issue with some work around over in Polycount (work a rounds didn’t work for me)
