I decided to revisit this model due to the fact that I have to do a remake of a scene from a movie for my final in animation class this semester. I will be updating this thread as I go along and hopefully if all works out post the final animation as well. Thanks in advance for looking and if anyone has any suggestions as I progress feel free to post them.
i like the details. good keep going
yeah, i agree, details are looking really good. it’s cool that you’re getting to work on this in school. i wish they would’ve taught ZBrush when i was an illustration major in college. though, i don’t even think it was around then.
Thanks for the comments guys it took quite a long time to add all of that, the emblem took the longest. I hand painted the mask for that and it took forever for me to get it to look right. I wish my school taught Z but unfortunately they don’t I am self taught from watching the great ones here. I am actually going overboard on this assignment we are supposed to use a downloadable pre rigged character but I figured if I could pull this off it would be even better. I have 6 more weeks to get her modeled, rigged and get the animation done, wish me luck.
Very pretty detail.
just continue that detail for the rest of the body and it should be amazing.
Here is an update on her boots I think I am going to call them done so I can stay on track to get all this done. Crits and comments welcome.
one thing i noticed was that on the boots, all but the little buckles pieces seem to be of the same material, defining different materials is a very good way to show off texturing abilities.
Worked on her forearm pads tonight, let me know what you all think.
i like the texture, just really not too sure about the zipper, I couldn’t really see arm bands/covers would be using a zipper to put them on, I’d imagine more like the buckles or clasps used in the boots you did. Good work.
Thanks for the comments, the reason there is a zipper is because I am following the outfit for the movie and they have zippers that secure them.
ah, did not see the movie so wouldn’t know, even though you are following it, feel free to explore your artistic creativity and all that jazz.
That’s some impressive work!
Great work! Details are really good and belivable, maybe hers hips are a bit thin, but i dont see the movie too…
Keep it up!!
This is looking real nice! You’ve done a great job so far. Just remember though that clothes need to feel organic too since people move around in them. They can’t look too stiff or they appear like armor.
But I realize that time is of the essence with this project, so just keep doing what you are doing and if you have time, you may want to go back and add some detail that shows that her garments are flexible.
Not a very large update tonight had some homework to do. But I did manage to get her holsters modeled. Thanks everyone for your valued comments, Kraken I see what you are saying I need to add some small creases and wrinkles to her bustier. If I have time I will work on making it more user friendly…lol. As always thanks for looking, and crits welcome.
Ok I think I have all the modeling done other than some final tweaks. Their is supposed to be two handguns, one on each side but ill just mirror them in Maya. Going to finalize the textures next then UV map and start the rigging. Please if anything seems real off let me know so I can fix it before I get to far into the rigging process. I am not sure about the leg thickness in the side view, but not sure if that is me staring at her too long or what. Anyway thanks for looking and crits and comments welcome.
I still have some more texturing to do but I have her back in Maya. I am pleased with how this is turning out, but I will let you all be the judge. Right now she is weighs in at 6800 polys but I still need to add teeth and tongue. So she will be around 7000 when completed. Crits and comments welcome.
Here is an update of her, she is rigged and all her blend shapes are done. All the blend shapes are rigged to a GUI for faster animating as well. I know she has flaws but I only have a few more weeks to get her animation done so this is where I stop. Let me know what you all think, and thanks for looking.
one thing i noticed was her creepy skin on her face, yet it seems that her hands are normal looking from these renders. overall, looks pretty good, I think a more dynamic pose would make it look better.
