understanding the STL plugin

Im trying to get a model out of Zbrush to Maya through the stl plugin

Its a ring .

The size is correct as i have brought the obj back and forth into maya and it hits the same size correctly each time.

when use the stl & I bring the stl into maya to check its huge it should be 22mm(inside ring diameter) & it comes out huge when i update size.

When i put in a size of 22 mm its still to big.

I have to eyeball it & of course with ring sizes u should be spot on !

The stl output plugin i found for maya ,does not out put the same size file it takes a 18mb file & ends up 136mb,as i thought i could resize & export out back in Maya,but no !

Any solutions ?
