Undead Head

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some input/your first impression on this zombie head I’m making. I want to wrap up the head this week. I’m going to pass it on to a friend of mine who wants to texture it.

I know its a zombie so its kindof hard to critique but thanks for any input that might help this look cooler :).

really i dont think you need to make any changes. the model looks pretty good. details are great and love the teeth and left side of the jaw.

Also, here is a link to this guy’s arm I started.
Comments and critiques welcome.

By the way, I’m not sure why I don’t have the insert image icon in my menu, it shows up in my private message menu but not in the new post menu, weird?

I’m talking about the icon with the mountain that you click and it allows images to be inserted directly in the posts some people don’t have to click a thumbnail or a link.

abnoid - Nice Zombie there man a very good start.

Use the Upload Image under the box where you write your post. This will open a new window. Upload your image from your computer. Then you should see a button ‘place in document’ or something like that. This will create a piece of code that should be placed in your post window.

If this doesn’t work you should still see the code under the comment box. simply copy the [ATT] code into your post. That should make it work. Preview post to make sure.

To create a thumbnail image for the bottom row just crop you image to about 100 x 75 pixels in photoshop and upload. Then make sure the [ATT] code for your thumb is the first image in your post.

If this doesn’t help you out give me a shout

Thanks Scott and Loki,

OK I got the images to show in the thread now, thanks for the input.

Great sculpt, man! I love the expression on him.

Great work! I think you were able to capture the detail of layers of flesh and muscle very well. You have high quality work, that is very clean and defined. :+1:

Thanks for the comments everyone!

I’m going to tweak the hand alittle make it less fleshy more dried up skinish, also add some dog bites since he was attacked by zombie dogs back when he was human. Also I’ll tear up the hand alittle more to match the wear and tear of the head. It’s hard to walk that line between lots of detail and overworked.

Here is an update with the full body for this character.
I got inspired by old George Romero films, The Walking Dead comic series, and Left4dead, I love that game…

Let me know what you think.

really cool! i think u should take it in 1 of 2 possible directions. either poly paint it to be really bloody and scabby and dirty, or rig it in that position and animate a walking cycle with it like tripping over its own crooked feet trying to get to fresh brains… either would be great

Zombie goodness!!! :sunglasses: Really nice dude, the details are great!! :+1: :+1:

moaar brainnzz naaoo

I like the fly

Incredible work, all good, but those hands… amazing!

That’s awesome! The details are fantastic. How far are you gonna take this? :+1:

brilliant zombie mate

konjo - I plan on rigging him, but that might be a while since I have 3 other sculpts that are about 80% done I need to finish!

captain - I plan on adjusting a few things like making the body skinnier to match the thinness of the head (leaving the head the way it is) and I’m going to damage the pants alittle more. Alot of the damage will also be done with texture maps.

everyone else, thanks for the comments

With all of the flies on him he should have maggots pouring out of him too.

Looking pretty sweet. For the most part I think this model could be considered done. If you want more to do- I would focus on the cloth- its pretty new looking compared to the zombie- all kind of wear and tear could be done. But- hey- this could all be done in a texture and/or maybe this zombie’s flesh has eroded faster then the cloth (it happens). If you did do some cloth work- I would only do it if you were willing to go all the way: don’t add just a couple of tiny holes- he needs to have the seams of cloth all busted, one of the sleeves missing, a big gaping hole off center on his chest, etc…

good job
Craig

Craig thanks for the input man. Hey I checked out your site, the bow and arrow guy looks amazing. Great pose and sculpt.
O and yea, I think the rest of the clothing damage will be done on the texure/apha side.
