Unable to remove custom UI element

Hi guys, I am having trouble removing a UI element, it simply won’t work as intended, nor can I remove it with ctrl + alt. Any advice on how to forcefully remove it?

~I have tried initialising, saving reloading ui, clearing ui, trying next ui… no fixes

My UI is really customised so i hope I dont have to restart it (and risk the problem again)… this is a really fatal bug. Thanks.

I presume those are ZAppLink Properties buttons? I’ve no idea why you can’t remove them. Just to confirm, you are doing this:

  1. Turn on Enable Customize.
  2. Ctrl+Alt+drag a button onto the canvas.

That should delete the button.

If this isn’t working for you then I suggest that you post the config file so we can take a look. You’ll have to zip it to post on ZBC.

Helpful to know what ZBrush version you’re using.

Hey, thanks for replying. I have since resolved the problem, but it still feels like a bug to me.

I used the exact procedure as you mentioned.
Specifically speaking - I could drag new Cust buttons from the zApplink menu to the interface and they would function as intended. The broken Cust1 buttons wouldn’t react to button clicks or highlight orange when “active”. They were basically stuck and useless elements to the UI.

To resolve the issue:

  • Removed zApplink from plugins folder
  • Opened zbrush
  • Enable customise, remove junk UI elements it replaced the cust1, cust2, clear with
  • Saved UI
  • Pasted zApplink back into plugins folder
  • Opened zbrush
  • Put UI elements back onto interface and saved

I have attached a config from when I had the problem.

You should update to 4R6 P2. There were UI issues with the version you have which were resolved in the update. See here:
