I recently downloaded zbrush 3.5r2. I am unable to import or export obj files
when i click the import/export/makepoly mesh nothing happens 
There are two common causes of this:
- Installation of plugins from ZBrush 3.1. Version 3.5 can only use plugins that were created specifically for 3.5.
- Corruption of ZBrush itself. (Usually caused by a virus.) In this case, you would want to deactivate ZBrush using the Zplugin palette, delete its folder and do a system scan for viruses. Then reinstall ZBrush.
Hi, i am also experiencing this problem. When ZBrush starts, the start menu is ontop of the application instead of its own background, and none of that responds other the “Other (press Esc)”. Then if you try to get an OBJ in ZBrush in any way it just does nothing at all. This is very frustrating! The problem is still here after re-install and my computer is said to be clean of viruses and malware. Please help.
If you’re talking about “Other (press Esc)” then this is either version 3.1 or a modified version of 3.5. Which is it?
3.5. I hear the start up for this version is supposed to go straight to a poly sphere, but the menu that comes up ontop of the screen does not work and neither do any import buttons for OBJ.
In a default installation of 3.5 there is no menu that comes up.
It sounds like you might have a faulty installation. Either that or you have modified your installation in some way (such as by editing the StartupZScript file).
I recommend that you deactivate 3.5 then delete the ZBrush 3.5R2 folder and reinstall.
I thought uninstalling the program would delete the files in program files. After deleteing them all then re-installing it seems to have worked.
