Unable to do Normal or/and Texture mapping (answered)

Hi! I have what you would call a newbie Q I guess. I’ve made a low poly base mesh in maya. then imported it to zbrush and done som surface sculpting on it and then wanted to export a normal map from the high poly version like ive done before by going "make normal map, “clone” and “export” but this time all the buttons in the Normal map tab is grayed out. As is the texture map tab.
Its like this at all my subdivision levels and when I’m at my morph target.
I was hoping that somebody could tell me why and maybe how to resolv my problem?

Thanks!

Does your model have UVs? You need them if you want to generate maps.

Hi and thanks! yeah I imported the OBJ with UVs and then pressed the Polymesh3D button without fully understanding what was going to happen. So the UV mapping must have dissapeard in the process. I ended up reimporting my OBJ and resculpted everyting =)

If you import a model into ZBrush it will already be a polymesh, so there is no need to convert it. The Polymesh3D button is promarily used to convert ZBrush primitives (that are created using a math formula) into meshes that can be sculpted.
