ultimative workflow question....

Hi guys…ok i understood that dynamesh is NOT to get maximum details…but to create a base model with let’s say “medium” amount of details…my question is…which is the workflow ?
Dynamesh with low resolution -> add more resolution -> and after that DIVIDE it a couple of time ???
or Beginn straight with hig res in Dynamesh and than DIVIDE as polymesh ???
My real problem is that in any case I have NEVER enough polygons for details…if U go close U notice that it is still not perfect like this for example:

Or must I maybe retopo ???

thanks

As far as I know, your mesh will turn into a Mesh3D once you hit Divide (in Tool > Geometry), if it was a Dynamesh (Dynamesh Button active). If you want, you can turn it into a Dynamesh again, (you’ll have to set the Dynamesh number higher and hit the button again). Either way, you can get to very high levels of detail.

If you need to be efficient with your poly-distribution, obviously, you’ll have to retopologize sooner or later (e.g. if you want to animate your model in another application).
