My custom config is saved in startup/userinterfacelayouts
help!
edit: when I open preferances/config and click restore custom UI it loads one of my other custom UIs
halp plz:qu:

I just replied to another thread, on the subject of missing UI elements from your custom UI. Perhaps it will help.

the solution
all you need to do is reload your UI when you have a 3D tool active. and that’s all  . So after you created your nice UI and closed Zbrush:

  1. Open Zbrush
  2. Pick primitive, make polymesh3d / or load your custom tool
  3. Click on Preferences > Config > Restore Custom UI
Presto! all your UI elements are there were you left them

alternatively:

  1. save a separate UI file via Preferences > Config > Save UI
  2. Reload Zbrush
  3. Pick primitive, make polymesh3d / or load your custom tool
  4. load UI via Preferences > Config > Load UI

thanks for help. Isnt the point of the store config button so my custom UI loads with zbrush? why am I having to do all that now every time I open

I may be wrong but isnt’ there a script for this in one of the posts. Have you searched on the issue?

there seems to be a small glitch
When you open Zbrush, the default tool that is loaded is the SimpleBrush. SimpleBrush is a 2.5D tool. Many of the menu items do not apply to 2.5D. For example if you have the Simplebrush selected and open the transform menu, you will not see any symmetry options. Now if you had any of the symmetry tools used in your custom UI, at startup they are not visible, since they don’t apply, to the Simplebrush.
Unfortunately it seems that when you switch to a 3D tool, they don’t reappear automatically. But resetting the UI seems to fix this. Must be a small bug.

If you find it frustrating opening the Preferences menu to click on “Restore Custom UI” every time you load Zbrush, you could drop the “Restore Custom UI” button on the shelf so you can get to it quicker every time.

i think this will help you

Q: Custom UI missing Tool Palette buttons.
A: Click to download this file -->
UIStarter_Z4R2_V1.zsc.zip. Then extract the zip file and put its content in the ZBrush:ZStartup:ZPlugs folder. If done correctly, you will be able to include tool palette buttons in your custom UI.

Nice one  missed that

YES !! !!!
THAT WORKED
you rock, thanks for your help people! :+1:
