UI wonkiness (feature request)

This is more of a request than anything I guess. The issue I’m having is that when you initially install ZB it wants to take over the whole monitor, toolbar along the bottom and all. The work around is to medium’ize/restore down the interface and drag it into the size you want so that the taskbar below isn’t being gobbled up and then save that config file so ZB opens that way every time.

Unfortunately, it only opens that way a few times then goes to opening up kind off of center and spilling over into my 2nd monitor. Working from home today almost netted me NOT being able to accomplish any work due to the fact that ZB’s right side gui was hanging off my 2nd monitor at work when I VPN’ed in and wasn’t able to maximize, nor drag the gui how I wanted. Shutting down zb from task manager and firing it back up netted teh same result.

ALL of this could be resolved if Pixologic would just work within the confines of standard UI development and make it an option to use windows style maximize that doesn’t gobble up the task bar and only spans to one screen upon maximize. I’m not sure why this is such a feat of magic to perform as just about every other single app on the planet appears to accomplish it just fine.

I know this will probably go on the long list of things that gets ignored ala true 3D paint system with layers (max2011 anyone??) while things such as turntables get implemented and bugs such as the scale issue make their way through QA.

I’m sure that v4 is going to blow me away (as is typical with every zb release) but there are some things that just REALLY get on my nerves and the non-standard GUI is one of them.
