Hi Scott, I bought your book yesterday and just finished the Chapter 2 Tutorial. I’ve never been much good at heads (or Zbrush!) before, but I’m really pleased with the result. Thanks a ton for this great resource.

I just got Scott Spencer’s book and so far of all the material I’ve seen on Zbrush, I’d have to say that this is the single best document around for learning Zbrush. The book is awesome. I did this little lion door knocker as the first lesson in the book from a simple plane, in about 2 hours. The toughest part was learning how to use the SubTool Append proceedure. ( Could have used a bit more hand holding here Mr. Spencer. Remember, we’re retards. Also it would have helped if I’d turned off the Y symmetry while I was trying to move and scale the knocker around  )
I’m loving this book.
I don’t want to spam this thread or anything but I had to say that I’m doing the second exercise in this superb book and frankly, I’m having a ball.
As much fun as constructing the skull is I’m really looking forward to laying on the face musculature.
O yes, and Mat Cap White Cavity indeed rules.
I used to think that Red Wax was the living end and that the white textures available in 3.0 and 3.1 were just the same as the boring white texture of 2.0.
Not at all.
Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to say thanks to those folks who have posted kind words about both my book and Eric Keller’s book. It is so great to hear from people who have found the book useful. By far the best part of having a book out there is hearing from readers and knowing the work is well recieved and doing some good.
Thanks for the nice words everyone. By the way - if anyone wants to drop me an email about the book - show their work on the tutorials - or if something wasnt clear please feel free to drop me a personal email.
BTW great looking work to both Kokosing and Cadmium77 !! Keep ssharing : )
Cheers!
Scott
