two questions

hey . guys after a while useing zbrush i have gathered a few questions and i was hopeing to any of you zbrushers could help me out
[is there a way that i can make my smouth brush eXtreamly stroug?]
[and most of the time i use the inserts i get a pop up saying i dont have enogh mem for the opporation…i got like 8 gigs DDR3]
if you could anser any of thes question it would be Just AWSOME!

Ok, for your first, there is a z-intensity slider which is below the z-add and z-sub buttons… by default its cranked up to 100% … which im sure you’re aware off … the other issue you might be having is probably your subdivision level might be too high for smooth brush to have any major effect… if you want to drastically effect your sculpt with the smooth brush drop down a few sub division levels and work your way up with the smooth brush. However I wouldnt advise going bananas with the smooth brus on your sculpt. I personally never go over 25%. I would be able to advise you better if I knew your workflow process.

for your second, in order for insert brushes to work I believe that the main mesh has to be denser or heavier than the insert brush. for example if your main mesh is 100 you could sucessfully add an insert with a value of < 100, you may face issues if the brush is 110 or 200. If its custom insert brushes you might want to duplicate a decimated version.

I hope this helps but if not Id like to hear more of what your trying to do exactly, that way I could look up the specific issue and get back to you

thanks for the reply but it doesnt help heres a what im trying to do
ok so i have a gun model and its so dynameshed that if i use the smouth brush i cant even see un effect i need a smoth brush that can kick ass. and if i lower my dynamesh res…i will lose all my crisp edges
and as for the inserts…i could be inserting a smale cilinder into my mesh and it will work rarely the more inserts i add the more the chance it will kick me out of zbrush

and i do apreciate the time you are takeing to help me out.thanks

edit… what im asking i think is beyond the programe…but i really hope there is a plugin for this isue because for it when i comes to hardsureface things i need to smothing the hell out of it but i cant do that after i use un insert because then i lose my subs:cry: any sojesttions would be great:). Btw cool charector as your avatar i checked it out…good anatomy;). but i would sugest that at the arm armor you splt up the arm to subdivide it.

Hello,

If you open lightbox (, key) and look under brushes> smoothing, there should be a smooth stronger brush hidden away there. Give that a spin and see if that brings a bit more punch to the fight.

If you’re working with a higher dynamesh value to hold certain details, one workflow you could try is to dynamesh/remesh a copy of the model at a lower resolution to create a simpler base mesh (turn off dynamesh after), subdivide that a few times, and then try projecting the detail from the old dynamesh model onto the new one. If it works out, you’ll still have the same looking mesh, but with some subdivision levels you can employ.

thanks cryrid i think this might work. and thanks rentthehungry i apreciate all the time you two took to helping me out…hopfully i will have the oppertunity you guys out. once again thanks
