Where are the last posts??? a person starts a discussion out of context and it is well…censure?? nice…thank you
I have deleted a few posts that were turning into a political argument.
This image does not glorify Nazis. If anything, it is satire. From the thread’s title, the idea is basically “dolls gone bad” and therefore the use of a Nazi-like character is a condemnation of Nazis rather than a glorification of them.
'Nuff said.
Please keep any discussion in this thread focused on the technical aspects of the work, and leave political debates to places like CNN.
Thanks!
I just wanted to go back to have another look at the picture and
it seems like she removed it.
p.s. nevermind its back again, good decision very nice sculpt and
i wont get political
but i really dont think its satire
i think you could have left the brasserd and there would be nothing missed and the ss officer in the back is although nothing you need to add. i see you got great skillz but with this one you don’t need to get honored.and i also don’t think it’s satire and if it is, it’s no good one.
Hey! This is ZBC! Wake up guys!
We’re talking about art and not politic…
However… I see no glorification of nazis here…
I hate nazis too… But, I must see beyond that…
And what can I see? A real piece of art!
Congrats for the top row Rebeca! Fully deserved!
Wowwowwow what a cutie-pie! I think that someone has been naughty!
Top notch job with the whole piece - someone thought the tat looked a little too ‘fresh’ and black, I would concur with this, but other than that tiny nitpick it’s totally without fault to me. GREAT JOB.
i said she got great skillz, if we talk about that it’s a masterpiece but i think art should tell us more than that we can do something really good.but as we talk about the skillz she got i have to tell you rebecca, next time i will just like your piece if it’s not presented in that controversial way.
Fantastic! Can’t wait to see more.

Nice job. Great detailing in the scene especially the seam in the wall paper. Congratulations on top row.
Aurick, how can you be a moderator and not allow emails???
I was not getting political. I was simply stating that we as artists should really think about what we’re creating. I see a lot of comments on art in here that are not simply technical comments. Censoring comments helps no one. An open discussion should be welcomed. AGAIN, I was only trying open the discussion about whether it’s right to make light of certain topics, and genocide is one of those things I think we should all take seriously. I guess napalmed babies are next, as long as they’re cute babies.
okey.technically a masterpiece.you really got great sculpting skillz. i don’t like the environment of the character i think this could be done better but as i read on cgsociety you prefer to make characters without environment so it’s a good one you did. and the drawing skillz on the wall in the bg are not the same level as your sculpting skillz but if it is your boyfriend i understand that you wanted to leave him there.
aurick: thought my post was not too offense so that you had to delete it, if it was i’m sorry.
Yes as an artist, the content should be thought about. As far as “making light” of genocide… I don’t see it.
It would be one thing if she had a pistol in her hand and Nazi flag next to her with a dead Jewish family at her feet bleeding out of their head wounds. AND EVEN THEN, it’s still art and sometimes art is dark, sometimes offensive.
I agree. Art should bring talks like this out into the open too. I didn’t realize the forum was only for technical comments, as there are tons of non technical comments out there.
Well I’ve seen lots of images of cute cartoon devils and no one bats an eyelid. The devil being the ultimate symbol of evil. Rebeca makes a great image of a cute nazi doll and all hell breaks loose. I see in no way how this image glorifies what the nazis did.
Rebeca, are you familiar with the work of Trevor Brown? I see a little of it in your piece. If anyone wants some controversy then they should check out his site. Still, his work has an opposite meaning to what people initially think it is.
Great work!!
Looking forward to more of your dolls! I remember I had your take on Dark Phoenix as a desktop for quite a while
AGAIN…I was not trying to offend the artist. Her skills are incredible. But you don’t market cigarettes with a cute camel character and then tell people you weren’t trying to reach kids. Maybe the artist never went to history class or does not have Grandparents that went through WWII. You have to expect criticism and take it if you want to work in a creative field. I would LOVE to create stuff at my job that only pleases me, but I am constantly told we can’t use this or we can’t use that because we might offend someone or it doesn’t fit “corporate guidelines”. It’s a part of the world we live in. If you really get that upset when someone critiques your images you won’t get far, unless you’re just creating it for creation’s sake. You know how much stuff gets left on the editing floor?
I actually think your dominatrix, or whatever she is looks a lot like Mark Ryden’s work…which I LOVE!!!
Thanks guys!
Yep, the art of Mark Ryden is really cool and the dolls of Mr. Trevor Brown are beautiful too
Other artists that inspiring me :GERNOT and his bizzarre galley,Colin Christian, Ray Caesar, HUSSAR etc
I hope you like it!
Cool character, love her attitude
lol, those heels are some heels!
Very nice work, I love it!
