Twist geometry

Hello, guys!
I’d like to select part of geometry of my stick and twist it along stick’s axis. The problem is that the stick is oriented very hard in space and twist deformer works only along world axises.
I’ve tried to do ZSphere rig, but was unable to rotate single ZSphere around itself.
Please help

you’ll need to mask the stick, then use the transpose tool to rotate the object around it’s center. You can also try to use the set pivot and clear pivot as well. Granted, this will only work if the object is moved to the center so you can twist it.

You can also move the object to the center of the canvas (tool.deformations.unify) align it with the world, rotate as needed, then reposition the mesh.

Do you actually need twisted geometry? If not you can make a piece of twisted geometry seperately with deformation tools and project the details in the area you need it:

If you find a solution to your problems (which I may very well have not understood correctly), please post back. It would be interesting to see what you came up with.
