Turning off recording layer causes noise on the model

I’ve experiencing a very strange problem only with one subtool on my model. I have a layer with recording on in that subtool, and if I turn off the recording option on that layer, it adds a very noticeable random noise all over the subtool in that layer. I’ve tried using morph target to create a new layer and keep the changes, but it seems the problem exists for any layer I create with that subtool, as soon as I turn the recording button off, it adds noise on the model.

Anybody knows how can I solve that?

Actually, it looks like transpose master might have something to do with that. The problem seems to exist for any subtool that has been posed using transpose master.

I’ve been testing a bit more, and the problem really seems to be transpose master. Any tool that has been used with transpose master will have this problem. I’ve even tried exporting the 1 subdivision and importing it to a new layer in a file previous to that transpose data, and the problem appears again. Everytime I unpress the rec button, it adds noise, and the more I press and unpress it, the more noticeable it gets. Here’s an example in the image, all those lines and dots are being created when I unpress the recording button in that layer.

Sorry for all the spam, but I’m trying to find a solution and I’m doing tests.

It seems that the problem isn’t transpose master related. It happens always, but only if big changes are done on the shape of the model (like changing the pose of a character), so you don’t see it if the layer only contains small sculpted changes, but you can’t store big overall changes on them, as they will add noise everytime the recording button is turned off.

Is that a known bug? Is there any way to solve it?

I believe it is a known bug.
I believe it is directly linked to color information on a mesh (but I could be wrong as I don’t use layers).
I would submit a support ticket to Pixologic.

same here…

On one old post, Aurick said the scale might be a problem, so here is the scale of my tool when I append a zbrush sphere :

Any body knows how to avoid that?

Thanks for your help.

also got a layer problem… but my mesh don’t get those noise patterns http://www.zbrushcentral.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=380368&d=1382731325

Think I solved my problem, seem to be a scale issue for me as well. I tried to scale down al the subtools by using export settings and then appending them again to a new tool. Then I made a new pose on a new layer. But now when I don’t have the problems with the hands moving I get the problem with the noise…

Maybe I scaled it down to much :frowning:
