Trying to export some polypaint and it's not working as expected

Hi,

I’m not used to using Polypaint in ZBrush, I’m old school Photoshop user. I wanted to add in a tattoo for a character I’m creating. Of course his UV seams go right down the middle of his back so I had no choice but to attempt to use Polypaint for this. I watched a few video tuts and got the gist of this. When I was through apparently all I had to do was under the Texture Map> New From Polypaint. Well all that happens is that the original skin texture I had created was loaded back and the tattoo that I was so happy with went “POOF”. Control Z brought it back so I’m OK for now. So I looked over the tutorials again, nope, I was going about it correctly. So does this newest upgrade of ZBrush have any known bugs like this? Or has the technique changed?

Let me know asap please,
thanks,
Richard

Did you reember to turn the texture off on the left side of your workspace?

No wait, that was a dumb reply. It should update for you properly as you are doing it all correctly as far as I can see. I’ve just tried Spotlight and it is working fine for me, even with layers (which used to be buggy for me in 4r7).

Hey Dylan!

Yup, I knew I was doing it right but there is something buggy here.

Import figure, set resolution up, Turn off everything but the Torso, Import in my skin for the torso, flip it, apply it and then bring in the tattoo as a new texture and then make that into a mask, draw it out and then paint on the mask, inverse mask, more painting and then remove mask and then want to export it… just keep removing all my work. I either missed a step or something. I really just want to paint on the tattoo in color. It’s in PNG with a transparent background so be nice to just draw that out onto my torso skin and then export it… I have it sort of worked out in 3DCoat but really wanted to use ZBrush for this…
