Trying to build a scene

So I’m pretty new to Zbrush. I have had the software for about three weeks. Then Keyshot for about two weeks. I love the software, but sometimes I wonder of my goals and expectations are unrealistic with this software? My problem is that I am trying to build a scene with creatures or characters in it, and render in Keyshot. And maybe I’m asking too much. U created a creature. This creature is using the fiber mesh fur. Then I created a small landscape with trees and a ground that all are using fiber mesh too. I cannot figure out how to get my little creature which is made up of multiple “Tools” into my scene which also has multiple tools. Then render in Keyshot. One thing I did do is create some kind of project that merged the creatures parts together. I put him in the scene and made him very small. The smaller I made the creature, then the fur on his body was gold or turned into just texture and color. Maybe because the geometry was a very slow polygon count?

I guess my ultimate question is what is the best method of building a scene and keeping all details intact not losing any resolution, and also to keep from making Keyshot so sluggish? Or do I need to buy somewhere perhaps like Lightwave and build a scene with it?
