Trouble with saving a mask

Hello,

I am very new to ZBrush, and I am trying to learn some of the basics by following video tutorials.

I am creating a human skull, and during this process I need to be able to save a mask. Supposedly I should be able to accomplish this by going to Tools > Masking > Create Alpha. This button is, however, grayed out for me.

I figured out that by going to the texture tab and clicking enableUV the Create Alpha button is clickable, but the alpha it saves is wrong. The alpha I get from this is just completely black even though I did create a mask. By the way I am using ZBrush 3.1

Hey there,

you will need a UVMap to save out your mask as an alpha. If you don’t have a UVMap the button will be grayed out.

Would a good way to do it be to use UVTile? And then save the mask as analpha.
