Trouble with Alphas

Hello everyone and welcome to my first post, riddle with potentially redundant/already answered questions

I’m trying to place some fine detail into my model using the Standard brush, Drag Rect stroke and a rock alpha. The problem I’m having is being able to apply a high enough level of detail without destroying the underlying shapes.

I’ve tried to offset this by lowering the Z Intensity, but I lose most of the detail in the alpha.

On a similar note, while using Projection Master, I’m unable to rotate my alpha while sculpting. Is this how it’s supposed to work or am I missing something?

I’d appreciate any help anyone’s willing to offer.

Cheers.

To rotate your alpha in PM, use the Directional Brush with the DragRect stroke type.

As for the other, you might be able to use Tool>Layers to do what you need. Put one type of detail on one layer, then another type on the other layer. Adjust layer intensities to get the effect you want.

Thanks Aurick! I know these were pretty noob questions, but I’m glad you answered them.
