trouble getting vector displacement diagnostic looks right in maya 2013

I am using Maya 2013 (viewport 2.0 renderer + maya dx11 shader) to test the zbrush vector displacement diagnostic.
Although the sphere looks round, but looking up close, there are many vertex clipping.

Using modo for diagnostic also show similar result.

Has anyone ever experienced similar issue?
