troll wip

Hey everyone,

recent project im working. still need to do feet and another pass or two of details, but did a quick pose for a break.

Im going to try and do armor from mesh extract which I havent tried yet. Im new to armor, so if anyone thinks its quicker just to do in maya, suggestions always welcome.

best,
mike

very nice…i dig the proportions. cant wait to see more!

cool work ! can’t wait to see more !

thanks for comments

An update on the work, still posing (such as the fingers) but happy with progess. I figured for the armor/cloth, I could mesh extract after the pose. My transpose master is not working for ZB 3.5, if there are updated plugins please let me know but I have not found anything in my search.

Very nice…love the pose as well!

Good job Mike.
I dont know what you are going to do with the face and why he’s missing the upper part of the teeth and nose.
The pose looks great, can’t wait to see what you do with the armor.

3.5 shouldn’t have been released without those plugins imo :frowning: i really need subtools master and transpose master too!
Keep updating!

something just bugs the hell outa me :stuck_out_tongue: how does he chew with only a lower jaw :stuck_out_tongue: no upper one to speak of ?

it cool!awesome work!waiting to see more

Hey everyone, thanks for the comments! heres a more recent render, still working on mesh extract, a couple failed attempts but hopefully have some armor up soon. i had last week off when I started working on him but back this week, so progress is much slower

SolidSnakexxx: I saw your troll online before I started modeling and used it for reference, awesome work!

Thanks DVmun!

Ryzzhan and genc: I know, I first planned to have kind of a lamprey mouth at first but it looked terrible. I like the way he looks now, but i realise how impractical it is, probably think of something later on when rapping him up.

nice model~~

I won’t worry about his upper jaw too much… I think the design looks really nice and refreshing… why chew when one can swallow ?

looking forward to see its progression

haha thanks piggy, good point!

probably not going to be able to work on this for a while, have been putting off too many projects and getting behind. Here’s the final render for now

best, mike

His left knuckles need a bit more angle on them. Look at your own fist and notice that the knuckles arent straight across. They are more of a slant when in a fist a bit of a curve when you have an open palm. The thumb on the same hand needs to come from the side and not from the same place as the index finger. Also could pull out the knuckle of the thumb more to the side to really sell that shape. I would also bend his torso forward a bit to create that sense of motion you are looking for. Also would give you good sense of weight.
