TrimDynamic Brush

Hell all,

Trying to use the trimdynamic brush and whenever I move my mouse around, there seems to be a pivot in the middle of the brush and it spins around the pivot. This causes a distortion which is undesired.

Is this brush supposed to do this?

I’m following a tutorial right now called ‘Demon Girl’ and when the tutor uses the trimdynamic brush to raise the material and keep it smooth, mine kind of splits in two and when I move my mouse the brush spins on a pivot causing an unsightly mess.

Anyone encountered this before and is there anything I can do about it?

I will try to post a screenshot later, but I am in work right now and can’t do it just now.

Thanks !

A screenshot of the problem would help.

Brush split.jpgpivot in brush.jpg

Hi, the image to the left shows a split in the brush, that is one stroke and it looks like I done two small ones parallel to each other. Why is that happening? When the tutor does it with the trimdynamic brush it just looks like one big thick stroke, which is what I want.

The image to the right; I have marked the pivot with a red dot in the middle and the width of the brush marked by the two red lines coming from the red dot. I have also marked the rotation of the brush with the red arrows. When I hold down the mouse with trim dynamic brush selected, and accidentally make a circular motion, this happens and it causes a swirling effect on the tool. Is this supposed to happen?

Thanks for your help

BUMP!

Anyone any ideas?

Sorry, I lost access to ZBC for a while and forgot to answer.

You can adjust the profile of the brush by adjusting the Brush>Curve>Edit Curve, though I think some of what you see is a result of the material shading rather than actual geometry.

For the circular motion, this can happen with irregular circular motion where the brush builds up on previous strokes. I’ve no suggestions, other than to work slowly to avoid doing it.
