Tribute to H.R. Giger

Final renders (until I start hating it… oh, the never ending tweaking cycle).
All detail and texturing “handmade” in ZBrush (no commercial scans, alphas or textures used). HD Geometry mode (about 72 million polys between head and neck). Rendered in Maya/Arnold. All hair and fibers done in Maya/Xgen. 1 HDRI for overall mood, 1 key light (round area light), 2 background lights and 2 rim lights (blue and amber).

The entire process, beginning to end took me probably 7-8 weeks to complete. It was started 2 years ago and put on hold since, until I picked it up 2-3 weeks ago for the final push.

Now it’s time to rest and prepare for my upcoming online class two weeks from now (I believe there are still 5 spots available, if you interested: https://www.flyonthewall.studio)

I hope you enjoy it and thank you for your constant support. It’s being tough for me these days, as with many of you, but your comments are always a ray of light shining through these dark times

RIP master.

-Kris

Incredible work Kris.
Don’t start hating it too soon. Take a break before tweaking more.
