Trench coat chick

Ok, so this is a character I thought up as i modled. Im not all to great at zbrush, I don’t quite understand the materials & lighting, I can’t get it to look like real skin or cloth. If anyone has any suggestions, tips or ideas. Also, if anyone knows how to do realistic tattoos or markings, I draw alot of tattoo designs and would love to be able to apply to my meshes. thanks guys…

Hei,

though you say, you’re not that great in ZBrush, I’d say the female is well executed. Viewing the whole body her trench coat looks cool and even her boots with that kind of socks make sense. I sometimes see those guys when I go to work by tram  One thing that might work well next time is giving all of those clothes a bit more definition e.g. the buttons of the coat. Now they look a bit like bubbles. You might use a harder brush next time to make the buttons look more separated from the rest of the cloth. The face of the girl and even her hair looks good, but the body might need some more “typical human body definition” Especially the hands, by the way her head seems to be a little bit to small compared to the rest of the body.
Concerning the texturing part: I guess you already found the skin shader in ZB3? Anyways you could start texturing skin with photo references. There’s a great tutorial on the main site of Pixologic by antropus covering this topic, but when it comes to lighting in ZBrush I have very little knowledge, so maybe someone else could help?
Last thing: I’m not sure, whether you already found the “stencil” function in Z? This would make your life very easy cause you can load any tattoo as a stencil and simply paint with any color you want. Is that what you’re looking for to make tattoos?

Cheers “ko’gen”.

thanks, i do understand the buttons and trim on the coat could be more real looking, only problem is, i cant divide the mesh anymore without my machine crashing. but i might just use the stensle tool for the tattoo and the detail on the clothing. with the hands, I haven’t gotten to them yet, yea, the head is kinda small now that i look at it, thank you again
