Transpost Master not Converting All my SubTools

Hi guys:
Just wondering if anyone knows why this happens.
I have a bunch of subtools and when I use transpose master it will not make a new intermediate mesh with all of them, it will only convert 2-3 and this varies depending on which subtool I have highlighted.
I’ve used it before just fine and this just happened recently.
How do I make it convert the all my subtools?

Transpose Master will only work with polymeshes, so if you have any subtools of the default parametric objects or ZSpheres in preview mode these will be skipped. Also TM works with visible subtools so make sure all are visible if you want to pose all.

If all the subtools are polymeshes then I don’t know what the problem is. If you can post or send me a problem mesh I’ll take a look. Also, please say whether you are on Mac or PC.

Thanks,

hi,
yeah they’re all polymesh3d, no primitives or anything, and they’re all visible.
could a high base poly count cause this problem?

Yes, that could cause a problem.

I’ve had this problem a long time and I recently discovered it was because
I had setted the number of undos to 1 in the Preferences .I’ve setted it back to 4 and I got no problems anymore.
There is a small chance you’re having the same issue.
Good luck

Any idea what’s a safe number of polys?

I have mine left at 4, so I don’t think that’s it.

Well, without a mesh to test I’m not sure that that’s the problem. But a combined mesh of over 500,000 polys is likely to be sluggish with Transpose anyway.

The subtools have less than 5k total polys at lvl 1, so I don’t think polycount is a problem. :frowning:

Update:I just noticed that a few subtools are acting weird, I’m not able to delete lower/higher subD levels on them, while a few others are fine.
any idea why this might be? I think it might be connected to the Tpose master issues.

Update2: OK, the subtools that won’t show up in Tpose and won’t let me del lower/higher levels have HD geometry levels, so I think that prevents them from working with Tpose master.

I’m currently trying to get rid of the HD geometry levels using subtool master > duplicate feature, but somehow it drastically changes the size of some subtools after they’re duplicated, if anyone could tell me how to fix that I think I’ll be all set.

thanks!

UPDATE: Figured it out by accident. If I just hit undo a few times after a duplicate it will return the subtool to the right size, seems like somehow Subtool master is adding an extra step after the duplication where it resizes the tool…
ahhh the mystery that is zbrush.
