Transpose tool

Hello

I have noticed on a lot of tutorial videos the Transpose tool is different to the one I have in 4 R2. Is there a way I can change the look of the Transpose tool as I find it hard work …

Thanks

What do you mean by “look”? Transpose hasn’t been changed in R2, the only addition made are in ZBrush 4 with the measurement functions.

I’m moving your thread because it is not in the good section.

In some of the videos I see a sphere type Gizmo that is used to rotate a object or a qube like object used to move a object. I have seen these move / rotate Gizmos in othere 3D programs.

The tool is used in this video to move and rotate objects http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxBgCfuIggw&feature=autoplay&list=PL9B52AC524C6C73B4&lf=plpp_video&playnext=13

I am still learning Zbrush so may be missing some basics …

Thanks for your help

Those gizmos are for 2.5D and not 3D.

You are in 2.5D mode if the ‘Edit’ button remains off. Drawing a primative on the canvas and turning on ‘Edit’ puts you into 3D mode.

Example of 2.5D mode:

  1. Draw a ‘Ring3D’ on the canvas but do not turn on ‘Edit’
  2. Select ‘Move’ transpose and the sphere gizmo will appear at which point, you can move the ring around.
  3. To duplicate the Ring, press Shift+S then ‘Move’ the duplicated ring. Press Shift+S again if you want to make another duplicate.

Ha that would be the basics I was missing thank you …

I guess I don’t need to give the answer :stuck_out_tongue:

If you want to see what can be accomplished with 2.5D, watch Zbrush for Illustration series of tutorials by Meats Meier. It’s done on an older version of ZBrush but the basics are still the same.
