Transpose Master problem [Answered]

Hi All. I suddenly can’t use Transpose Master. When I open the sub-palate and push the TPoseMesh button I get the ZScript Note pop up window in the below screen grab. I get this only the first time I try to use Transpose Master. Any subsequent pressing of the TPoseMesh button has no effect at all and doesn’t bring that Note window up. At first I thought it was something wrong with the current ZTL, but this problem exists for any tool I try to use, including ones which I had used Transpose Master successfully on in the past… Obviously I have restarted ZBrush, restarted the computer. I haven’t tried to restore my PC to an earlier point because hnestly it’s been some weeks since I’ve used Transpose Master and so I have no idea when this problem crept in. Any help would be extremely welcome.

Before using Transpose Master after a restart, check that your model doesn’t have any duplicate subtool names. Note that use of capitals (such as in Vest and vest) will still count as a duplicate name.

Let me know if this helps. This issue will be corrected in the next version of Transpose Master.

Hi Marcus. Thanks for the feedback. There were already no duplicate names in the tool.

Just now I started ZBrush, loaded in an old tool I had done when 4R5 had just come out and Transpose Master worked fine. I then loaded my new project (the piece in the above screen grab), and tried TM and got that same error message. Without restarting ZBrush, I reloaded the first Ztool that had just moments earlier worked fine with TM, and Transpose Master is non functional.

What can I do to fix this now? Uninstall and reinstall Zbrush? Something less dramatic? I don’t even understand the nature of the error message.

There is no need to reinstall ZBrush. But I would need to see the model to find out what is going wrong, and so the problem can be fixed in the next TM update. I’ll PM you.

Many thanks for letting me see the file. The problem was some extra periods in the file name. When these become part of the subtool name it means the wrong name is reported to the plugin, resulting in the error. Once an error like this has occurred, Transpose Master will not work until after a ZBrush restart.

It’s best to avoid special characters in subtool names, other than hashes (#), hyphens (-) and underscores (_).

Hi,

I am having the same problem with Transpose Master- I get a ZScript Note saying "Interface item does not have special modifiers. SCRIPT: TransposeMaster_4R6.txt [IModGet,[StrMerge, “Tool:Sub Tool:”,#subTName]]

My file name is not weird and neither are my subtool names. The only special characters I use are numbers and underscores. Any ideas on what’s going on? Is it definitely a naming issue?

You on Windows or Mac? Have you looked at the file names in Explorer or Finder? (guessing you could have imported an obj or loaded a ztl)

Nevermind, I went thru and renamed all of my subtools (even tho at first glance, their names looked ok) and when I hit Rename for a few of them, the name was a super long location instead of the actual name. So changing those few hidden glitches solved the problem!

HI, GUYS. I also met the same error when i am doing my own project . After watching some workflows in Youtube, i clearly follow the steps, but it finally give me the bad results. Shattering or blah,blah!
I can see the steps of using the TRANSPOSE MASTER are very simple. But it just no any logical explanation for it. I also try Zsphererig, bind the mesh and pose the Rig. But finally it just give me confusion.
I have 2 question. 1) when i finish the my own Zsphererig in TRANSPOSE MASTER, how can I confirm whether the rig is saved properly or not. 2)when i wanna transpose “Tpose_rig which i have finished and confirmed” to the aimed mutiple subtools. Is there any details i have to pay attention, for example, face normal direction, polygroups or somethings else.
I guess the errors may be caused by those issue.
