Transpose Master issues

Hi, I’m new to the forum and have been using zbrush for about a month.

I’m working on a zombie model. I began using zspheres to create a bone structure, then I meshed it out, used dynamesh, subdivided and all that stuff. Currently, I only have 3 subdivisions and my polygon count is pretty freaking high. I tried to reconstruct my lower subdivisions, but can’t because my mesh somehow contains triangles.

Anyway, my model looks pretty good and I want to pose him, so he…looks like a zombie trying to chase someone. So, I used zspheres and created a rig (I made a normal skeleton once, and the second time I tried cuz the mesh was crazy skewed, I made a fatter rig, so it filled the mesh). Well, the second time I tried to pose him, the mesh kept rippling. I decided to just stop and see the damage it had done to my figure. He’s rippled…like, his legs look like they were built out of lego blocks. Very chunky, huge blocks. I don’t know if it’s because my lowest subdivision is too high in polys or if I’m doing something completely wrong. I expect there to be some stretching in my model, but not quite this bad. Is there anyway I can fix my issue? Any help would be fantastic:)

pictures would help.

your mesh has triangles. dynamesh will generate them. If you want lower subD levels do a quick qRemesher on it and see if that helps you.

You get that rippling if your mesh is too heavy for zsphere rigging. Instead you could try using the Transpose action line to pose or better, reduce the polygon count by creating lower subdivison levels. One way is to use QRemesher as beta_channel suggests; another is to use Decimation Master. Use a clone, then subdivide and project the hi res details.

I tried the clone being remeshed & projecting & going up subdivisions, but my current computer can’t handle it. Ill try again once I get my new one this weekend. As for posting a pic, I’d love to but compared to others I’ve seen…I’m afraid to. Granted, I’ve never 3d modeled until a month ago. But I’ll take your advice once I get my new computer. It makes sense. Thanks
