Transpose Master issue

Hi there oh migthy gods of zbrush!!!

I am in big need of your help!

The problem: Transpose master doesn’t want to properly work. When I hit tpose to mesh it takes a while to start the process, then it starts at it is suppoused to but suddenly, when I get most of the subtools posed it stops and keeps thinking and thinking as it was trying to figure it out what to do next and never finishes the process. I have even left it working for 30 minutes and then I had to shut down zbrush, and all the info of the pose is gone.

I have tried every tip I found in this forum: gave different name to the subtools (no spaces, dots or anything strange), exported the mesh as an obj and imported that obj to see if it was a problem of the mesh, controled if there was some hiden masks in the original mesh; deleted some subtools and tried the process again to see if it was a subtool problem, disabled Uvs (even thou it is not a painted model), reinstalled the pluggin… but nothing seems to work. Zbrush keeps thinking and thinking until I have to shut it down.

The model is 5.6 million polys, with 9 subtools; I am using zbrush 3.1 ; windows vista, 8 Gig of Ram, quadcore.

Any help, any word of wisdom, any advice anything will be more than welcome!!!

Thanks for your time

Latt

Latt,

I don’t know what is causing this issue. Could you send me a low res version of the mesh to test. It doesn’t have to have all subtools, just be a version that gives the problem. I’ll PM you with my email address.

Have you tried dialing down the subdivision levels of your subtools before you initiate Subtool Master? Perhaps that would take some weight off of the plug-in and make it a less intensive process. Can’t guarantee it will work, but it’s something to try.

Marcus and Dustin thank you very much for your quick reply!
Marcus, I am not able to open the private messages it says I have not that privilige or something, it must be a new member thing right?.
Dustin, yes, I have tried that.Besides what I have posted before, I tried to reduced memory from 4096 to 2048, played around with the amount of allowed polys 10, 12,15 and even 50 millions. Deleted tool by tool and tried to reposition it with the transpose master. Deactivated Gradient colors in texture subpalette, merged some subtools, separated some subtools. Moved only one part of the mesh, did one movement, small movements, big movements. The only way it has worked so far was deleting all subtools except the main body, eyes and teeths, but with the rest of the subtools zbrush kept thinking and thinking until I have to shut it down. I don’t think it is a system issue, I have bought a second computer a couple of weeks ago just to learn zbrush as I am amazed with it, so when I bought the machine I passed the system requirements to the computer shop and asked them to put everything double! LOL.

I have a few other models I made using the same body, and they got frozen too when I tried to use the transpose master with all the subtools. Again, the plugin worked perfect with just the main body and eyes and teeth. Any help, any word of advice, any alternative will be more than welcome!!!!! Thanks a lot guys in advance for your time and effort figuring out what the hell I am doing wrong!!!!

Sorry to bump it up but I really need a way to fix this.
Has someone faced the same problem? Is not a common problem? Similar issue and how it was fixed? Anything to point me in the right direction or what could cause this will work. anything!
Thanks a million

latt,

I really need to see a mesh in order to try and find what’s causing the problem. There’s nothing you are doing wrong, as far as I can tell.

Can you send a low res version of the mesh to me at: marcus at pixologic.com?

Thanks,
