transpose master explodes mesh

Hello,

I’m having an issue where when I try to transpose to subtool after posing my model with transpose master for some seemingly random reason it tells me my mesh has changed and would I like to reproject higher? So I do and it reimports the subtool and reprojects the higher divisions and they come out all exploded. Why does this happen?

If you get the ‘reproject higher’ message then something is going wrong. Transpose Master works be splitting up the combined mesh into subtools and then importing each one into the original subtools. It checks to see if the vertex number is the same but sometimes other errors can occur. If you can isolate the subtool that the error occurs with then you may be able to find out what’s going wrong. Test the mesh with Tool>Geometry>Check Mesh button to see if there are any issues. Also run TM without any posing - sometimes with more extreme poses the polygons wrap around each other and this can cause problems. If you can’t find what’s happening then I would need to have the model to test.

Thanx for the reply. I would think it was the mesh only it seems to a happen to a random subtool, and randomly too. It even happens to subtools I have transposed several times. On the 5th time it will give me the error. It will happen on visible subtools I haven’t even moved. It just makes no sense. But is very frustrating. Zbrush has a-lot of bugs. It seems I’m here posting a couple times per week on things that are mostly unsolvable. I keep having to find work-arounds.

Also there is another weird thing. Sometimes when I Tpose my mesh subtools that have their visibility turned off will turn themselves on and be tposed. This is annoying because some of my tools are highpoly and I cant do my tpose with the high poly subtools turned on. However, When this happens the subtool that turned itself on often is the one that gives me the “changed, and re-import” error.

If you are getting mixed errors like that then I can’t really suggest anything specific. (I will bear the issues in mind for the next plugin update.) It might be a good idea to check you have the most recent version of Transpose Master though by downloading from the Download Center. Make sure you delete the previous Transpose Master installation from your ZStartup/ZPlugs folder.

I had the same problem recently, actually i fixed that in separating any mirrored elements into subtools. For example if your character have gloves, it must be 2 different subtools.

I’ll try that. Thanks for the trying to help.

Also I’m on a Macpro, so maybe I have more problems cause Im on a mac?

I’m not aware that there are more problems on the Mac. (For example, I know Brandon Lawless, who’s in the Top Row at the moment, uses a Mac.)
