Transpose Master and external Posing = Problem

Hi there,

i am trying to understand the functionality of Transpose master, but ultimateley i always run into problems and end up with a unposed model. Here is what i do:

  • Create a Transpose model with Transpose Master.
  • Export it to OBJ
  • Load it to 3DS Max and pose it with bones
  • Export it as a OBJ
  • Load it “over” the transposed Low Res mesh.
  • Lowres mesh adopts the posing and looks as desired. Thus far i am happy.
  • Now i try to use the newly posed lowres Ztool to update the highres Ztool. Zbrush is workling and calculating, but ultimateley the highres tool stays unchanged.

What i am missing, or making wrong?
Thanks for helping me!
Regards
Heiner

The current version of Transpose Master relies on polygroups to identify the original subtools. If you destroy these while posing in an external app then the plugin won’t be able to transfer your pose.

Also be sure to use the Transpose Master options to save out and load in the OBJs:

  • To save out an OBJ for posing elsewhere: with the TPose (combined) mesh selected, press the Transpose Master:TPoseMesh button. Save the OBJ using the dialog.

  • To load in an OBJ that you saved as above: select the tool with subtools and press the Transpose Master:TPose>SubT button. Select the OBJ through the dialog.

HTH,
