Transpose master 3.5 r3 - anyone?

Hey, I’m loosing it, ever since the r3 got out I’ve been trying to make the transpose master to work, but no luck. It constantly leaves out subtools, it masks in a very strange fashion even the one subtool, so I dunno, am i missing something? It’s hard to believe I couldn’t pose anything since r3 got out :frowning:

Thanks

Are you using a zsphere rig to pose the character?
I’m going to be using this soon, so I hope its not a bug.

Hey, no I’m just using the plain ol’ transpose tools, which don’t work in a plain ol’ way :frowning:

you are really missing something. you need also to include the other subtool to transpose with the one you are transposing. well since it is still polygroup. you can hide the other and mask in and invert the subtool that you want to transpose with the other.

Hey, thanks! I’ve just found the solution - to include other subtools I must crtl+click+shift them to transpose them with everything else as well. Just getting used to it. Thanks once again

Does transpose master work on a zsphere rigged character?

^ never tried that. I will back if I found it.

You can use ZSphere rigging with Transpose Master - see here:

Does this method allow you to save the pose while working? I’m working on quite difficult pose based on a squat. Also when I use transpose master I have a strange issue. When making the t mesh, I can pose it, nicely, however when I transfer it, it leaves out parts I made sure I had masked. So I may have half of the nails follow the pose, but the others will still bve in the original place. And the shorts may just move into a odd location and scale.

Yes, just save the ZSphere-rigged ZTool (and your original subtool mesh or course) then load them both up next session to continue working. When you want to transfer the pose just go from stage (4) of the method.

It sounds as though the nails of your model are mirrored duplicates. Transpose Master can sometimes have trouble with subtools that have the same number of vertices as that is how it identifies the subtools.

They are mirrored duplicates. Is there a fix for that? Also the shorts don’t always scale properly during this procedure.

The next update of Transpose Master, due to be released with ZBrush 4, will address these issues.

For the nails, if you were to combine them into a single subtool, or matched pairs as single subtools, this would avoid the problem.

For the shorts, this may be a Scale/Offsets issue. For Transpose Master it’s best to set the Scale/Offsets for all subtools to 1/0. You can use SubTool Master to do this.
