Transpose Masking smoothness

I’m trying to use Transpose Masking to pose my model, but it’s creating a hard, solid edge on the mask which is un-usable for posing. None of the tutorials I’ve watched on the subject have this issue; they all just naturally create a smooth graduated edge on the mask when using Transpose Masking, no extra step to get this effect is detailed.

Try adjusting the Preferences>Transpose>Mask Blur Strength slider to a higher value. I think this affects the automatic blur that you get when you stop masking. You can also blur the mask further by Ctrl+clicking on the mesh.

I tried both of those things. They do increase the blur, but not the… length… of the blur. It’s only a couple millimeters wide, barely visible no matter how many times I blur it or how high I set the Transpose blur strength.
Here’s a picture of what I’m getting, with maxed out blurring:

The gradient is based on the polygon faces of your model. If you’re using the transpose mask on your highest level there’s very little gradient. If you do the same stroke transpose masking on your lowest division you’ll notice a much better gradient when you go back up your division levels.

Remember you usually want to sculpt your overall major shapes on the lowest level. This applies to transposing as well. This will create the most natural and smooth transpose bending, etc.

Ah, yeah. Going down to the lowest sub division level fixed it. Thank you.
