Transpose masking causing Zbrush to crash

Im trying to adjust a pose on a model - i select rotate and as soon as i do the ctrl+drag mask, Zbrush crashes. I did an STL check in Max and there are no holes or unwelded verts. There are also no hidden pieces of geometry or subtools. Any suggestions?
