Transparency problem...?

Hi all. Seem to be having a proble with transparency and the Standard brush. If you look at the attached pic you can see that I am working on a boot on the right leg/foot. I want to use the standard brush near the right calf area but it won’t let me…probably because the underlying layer is intersecting with itself??

How can I get around this?

Transparency won’t have anything to do with this. SubTools do not affect each other when sculpting – ZBrush is only rendering the other SubTools so that you can see them, but you can’t affect them in any way and they can’t affect the currently-selected SubTool.

However, your screen shot shows that you have symmetry active, and that symmetry is based upon the master SubTool - which I assume was the source that you used when creating the boot. This symmetry is trying to reference nonexistent points, and I think that’s what is creating your problem. Try turning symmetry off and see if that helps.
