transparency on single subtool - Answered

is there a way to get a single subtool to display transparent on just one part of the model and opaque on another part?

for ex you want to check the thickness of a surface like a helmet, you want the top of the helmet transparent and the inner shell of the helmet opaque.

thanks

1) Paint that part of the model with a different material than the solid parts.
2) Set the Material>Modifiers>Transparency slider for this second material to the desired value.
3) For that SubTool, turn on Tool>Display Properties>BPR Transparent.
4) Turn on Render>Render Properties>Transparent
5) Do a Best Preview Render

6) Read the ZBrush 4R2 New Features PDF found in the ZBrush 4R2\Documentation folder.
