Transferring texture to Uv in Zbrush

Hey guys a colleague at work is working on a model of a flower that she modeled and unwrapped in Maya and brought to zbrush to texture. She used poly- paint to texture the model and then when it came time to transfer the poly paint data to the uv’s of the actual model only the petals of the flower poly paint data was transferred but the roots and the leaf of the plant did not get any texture transferred onto there uv’s, Oh when my colleague brought the model into zbrush she group split the model into different sub tools and then transferred the ploypaint data onto the petals first which was a success but then when she went to transfer it to the stem the transfer polypaint option button was not highlighted, plus the uv unwrapp of the model was also gone specifically the stem. I am hoping to get a technical review of why this happened and why a model that was unwrapped before lost its uv unwrap

Splitting to subtools destroyed them. GoZ might help. You could work on groups without splitting to subtools…
